The party of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is one of the four corporate members of the ruling coalition, the Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF). The congress also re-elected Mr Abiy and Mr Lemma Megersa to continue serving ODP as chairman and deputy, respectively. The ruling coalition is expected to hold the long-awaited and a few times postponed general assembly in the coming weeks. Publicly opposedThe last EPRDF general assembly took place in August 2016.
