LOS ANGELES — Head coach John Stevens has been fired by the struggling Los Angeles Kings just 13 games into his second season in charge. Former Vancouver Canucks bench boss Willie Desjardins was named the Kings’ interim head coach Sunday by general manager Rob Blake. Desjardins was the Canucks’ head coach from 2014 to 2017, missing the playoffs in two of his three seasons. He will be assisted by former Kings forward Marco Sturm, who had a 14-year NHL playing career ending in 2012. He had been the head coach of the German national team since 2015, leading his nation to a silver medal in Pyeongchang.
