Exit of top executive might jeopardise EAPCC succession plans

East African Portland Cement Company chief operation officer Albert Sigei has resigned, putting into jeopardy the firm's succession plans. Before his appointment, Sigei was the vice president of business support and ready-mix operation at the Nigerian branch of Lafarge. Insiders said Sigei, who was seconded from France conglomerate Lafarge, had hinted he would go back to his former job in Nigeria. The 43-year-old Sigei, hired last August, was touted as a possible successor of Tande. Large has a 41 per cent stake in the Nairobi Securities Exchange – listed EAPCC.
