Responds to AG in ParliamentSays even 9/11 and Rajiv Gandhi probes took timeBy Dinitha RathnayakeThe Criminal Investigation Department (CID) together with the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Australian Federal Police are currently conducting an international probe into the Easter Sunday terror attacks, Public Security Minister Sarath Weersekera claimed in Parliament yesterday (19). “Even the FBI has confirmed that Naufer Moulavi was the main character in the attacks,” he said. Making a special statement, he added that time is taken for these kinds of investigations, as the wrongdoers cannot be allowed to escape through the loopholes. Weerasekera revealed that there is information that four Maldivian nationals were also involved in this terror attack. Following this statement made by the AG, the Minister instructed the CID to submit a report in this regard.
