In a statement, FIFA explained that the partnership includes the construction of 50 mini-pitches near schools and residential areas in Gaza, five full-size pitches in various neighborhoods, a state-of-the-art FIFA Academy, and a new national stadium with a capacity of 20,000 spectators. The agreement will also raise US$75 million for football-related projects in Gaza. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that, with the support of the Peace Board, FIFA will lead the partnership – established to make an impact at every stage. Hamas demanded that any political process or arrangements concerning the Gaza Strip be contingent upon a complete cessation of hostilities and the lifting of the blockade. This statement came in response to the UN Peace Council session on Gaza held on Thursday.
