’Tana AiyejinaNigeria’s U-20 women’s team Falconets defeated South Africa’s Basetsana girls 2-0 in Polokwane on Saturday in the first leg of their final qualifiers for the France 2018 U-20 Women’s World Cup. The Basetsana, backed by their home crowd, tried to find a way back into the game in the second period, but the Nigerians held on. Goalkeeper Cynthia Nnadozie was well-protected by Sunday Opeyemi, Christy Ucheibe, Mary Ologbosere and Kemi Famuditi. Glory Ogbonna, Bashirat Amoo, Grace Igboamalu, Imo, Ajibade and Folashade Ijamilusi all impressed at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. The 9th U-20 Women’s World Cup is scheduled for France from August 7 to 26.
