Famous steamship Waverley to bring exciting cruises to PlymouthPopular vessel returns to Britain's Ocean CityView Image PS Waverley pictured at Commercial Wharf on Plymouth's Barbican when it visited in 2023 (Image: Jon Walton)The world’s last surviving ocean-going paddle steamer is once again steaming its way back to Plymouth for some “unique and exciting” cruises. ‌The famous PS Waverley will be in Britain’s Ocean City in May and will carry passengers on evening trips to Rame, Whitsand and Cawsand, and the Sound and Eddystone Lighthouse. Now it is returning to the South West and will sail from Plymouth for day and evening trips around the Devon and Cornwall coast on May 22, 23 and 24. A Cattewarter Harbour Commissioners spokesperson said: “PS Waverley will return to Plymouth and the South West this May with a series of unique and exciting cruises from Friday, May 22, until Monday, May 25. A spokesperson for Waverley Excursions Ltd said the vessel provides “a nostalgic cruise the whole family will enjoy”.
