WASHINGTON—Federal workers, lawmakers and some government health experts stepped up calls for the Trump administration to close government offices to help contain the spread of the new coronavirus in the U.S. Thus far, some agencies have issued only temporary or partial recommendations for civil servants to work from home. On Friday afternoon, President Trump declared a national emergency related to the virus.
