A Waimate charity event is giving a helping hand in creating a series of mountain bike trails in the district, with three kilometres added in time for its annual challenge on February 28. At the fifth annual Whitehorse Big Easy mountain bikers, runners and walkers will converge on the town for a variety of challenges. New Zealand Land Search and Rescue, KiwiSport, Rotary Club of Waimate, Whitehorse Mountainbike Club, Waimate School of Music, Centrecare Counselling Waimate and the Waimate Harriers will be among those to benefit from the fundraiser.
