Five people were treated in hospital following a suspected 'acid attack' on a busy Cardiff street this afternoon. South Wales Police were called to City Road at around 2.45pm on Sunday following reports of an assault. A spokesman for South Wales Police said: 'At around 2.44pm today emergency services attended an address on City Road, Cardiff, after reports of an assault. A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We were called shortly before 3.00pm this afternoon, Sunday 05 September, to reports of an incident in the City Road area of Cardiff. 'Ambulance crews, including the Trust's Hazardous Area Response Team, attended the scene and two people were taken to hospital.'
