A Busia Kuppet official has urged the government to follow the free day secondary education formula to address the financial challenges school principals face. Branch executive secretary Moffat Okisai said secondary school principals in the county have been forced to reduce the food ration for lack of funds. Okisai said instead of disbursing the free day secondary education in line with the 50:30:20 formula, the government has only sent 14 per cent of the amount, putting school principals in an awkward financial position. “The school principals have faced a lot of financial challenges over government’s failure to follow the agreed free day secondary education formula,” the union official said. I want to appeal to the government to follow the 50:30:20 disbursement formula and send the money promptly to the school,” Okisai said.
