Had he been alive this past week in the United States, he would have felt some sense of vindication. Would U.S. President Donald Trump, struggling to get Brett Kavanaugh confirmed as a Supreme Court judge, launch a foreign conflict as a distraction? That was the implicit message of the U.S. president when he spoke to the United Nations this week. But Trump was deadly serious in his condemnation of what he called “the corrupt dictatorship” in Iran. The campaign against Iran by the U.S. government is a lonely one for Trump.
