Four people are believed to have died on Saturday after their boat capsized in River Sondu Miriu at about 8pm. A group of six was on its way from Kabondo Miriu sublocation in upper Nyakach to Rachuonyo in Homa Bay county. "Two swam to safety," said Kisumu county commissioner Mohamed Maalim. Maalim said search and rescue operations were underway.
