French music star Aya Nakamura faced racist attacks from the far -right French group over reports that she would perform at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics in July/2024. The organising committee of the Paris Olympics said they were shocked by the “racist" attacks made by the group. “We have been very shocked by the racist attacks against Aya Nakamura in recent days. (We offer our) total support to the most listened-to French artist in the world,” they stated. In a tweet Aya also responded to the gesture saying that she will always be a star.
