At 20, Dubai-born Kehkashan Basu is the youngest person on the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Education category. One of her jobs, at an East Boston charter school, led her to start AllHere Education, which tackles the longstanding problem of chronic truancy. The rest of our education list includes founders of for-profits and nonprofits, activists, a thought leader and young people working to further educational goals through their jobs in government. To compile the final list we relied on three judges: Ford Foundation President Darren Walker, GSV Ventures Managing Partner Deborah Quazzo and Tony Wan, a cofounder and managing editor of EdSurge, a San Francisco-based publication that covers the ed-tech industry and an alumnus of the 2014 Forbes 30 Under 30 Education list.
