Gadar 2, the sequel to his 2001 blockbuster film Gadar, made Rs 40 crore on its opening day in theatres, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. According to a report by Indianexpress.com, Gadar 2 could be looking at an opening weekend haul of Rs 120 crore, and Rs 175 crore over the extended Independence Day holiday weekend. Released in 2001, Gadar became a rage at the box office and ended up grossing more than Rs 130 crore worldwide. Sunny Deol’s sequel film Gadar 2 has opened with a record-breaking Rs 40 crore at the box office. The film is expected to have an opening weekend collection of Rs 120 crore and Rs 175 crore over the Independence Day holiday weekend.
