On Tuesday, The Star planned with our co-hosts, the League of Women Voters, to put on a virtual forum with the six Conejo Valley Unified School board candidates. Later, the story became these candidates had concerns about the neutrality of the forum and The Star's participation. As far as I can tell, the six candidates for the Conejo school board have never appeared together to answer questions. For voters and the public at large genuinely trying to understand where the candidates stand, chalk this up as a grand missed opportunity. When it comes to hosting forums, the organizers with League of Women Voters of Ventura County are the experts.
