By Colin KellaherGlatfelter on Wednesday said it is closing its manufacturing plant in Ober-Schmitten, Germany, as the supplier of engineered materials works to shed unprofitable, non-core assets as part of its turnaround strategy. The Charlotte, N.C., company attributed the closure to financial underperformance of the electrical and glassine specialty papers made at the plant, which has about 180 employees.
