More than 200 health journals worldwide are publishing an editorial calling on leaders to take emergency action on climate change and protect health. The British Medical Journal (BMJ) said it is the first time so many journals have come together to make the same statement, reflecting the severity of the situation. The greatest threat to public health is the continued failure of world leaders to keep the global temperature rise below 1.5°C. "Reflecting the severity of the moment, this editorial appears in health journals across the world. "We, as editors of health journals, call for governments and other leaders to act, marking 2021 as the year that the world finally changes course."
