DHAKA, Apr 12, 2026 (BSS) - The government has chalked out an elaborate programme to celebrate ‘Pahela Baishakh’, the Bangla New Year-1433) on April 14. On the occasion, the national dailies will publish special supplement while Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and private TV channels will air special programmes. “Baishakhi Shobhajatra” and cultural programmes will be organised at district and upazila levels on the first day of Baishakh. Cultural programmes, folk fairs and essay competitions for students will be organised in the district towns and all upazilas to celebrate the Bangla New Year. Special programmes will be organised and traditional food will be served in the city’s posh hotels and clubs on the occasion of Bangla New Year.
