Botswana has launched a green energy plan in a bid to transform its agriculture sector and combat climate change. The project is a collaboration between Botswana National Development Bank (NDB), and German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft for Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). This is in order to increase agricultural and horticultural production through green technology and smart farming. Solar to help agriculture sector’s move to green energyThe International Climate Initiative of the German Ministry of Environment is funding the initiative with about $931,000. “It includes an Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme (ACGS), seasonal loans, etc, to attract investors and to improve commercial viability in the sector.”
