By Maria MartinezU.S. wholesale inventories increased in August at a stronger pace than in the previous month. Inventories of U.S. merchant wholesalers rose 1.3% in August on month, up from a 0.6% increase in July, the Commerce Department said Friday. Inventories were up 25.0% from the same month a year earlier. The ratio of inventories to sales stood at 1.31, up from the 1.29 the previous month and above the 1.21 registered in August 2021, the Commerce Department's data showed.
