The high court on Thursday granted the CBI permission to re-examine convicted rapist and murderer Sanjay Roy and other witnesses connected to the brutal killing of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in August 2024. The CBI also sought permission to interrogate any “respectable person” linked to the case. The division bench fixed May 12 as the next hearing date and, through an interim order, allowed the CBI to question any individual in connection with the case.
