Sai Gon - HCM City to build cultural and tourism villageVietNamNet Bridge – To make HCM City more attractive to local and foreign travellers, city authorities have decided to build the Sai Gon Cultural and Tourism Village. Built by the French in the late 1800s, Notre Dame Cathedral is a well-known tourist site in HCM City’s downtown area. The project includes areas showing the 300 years of history of Sai Gon – HCM City, with waterway landscapes featuring river ports docking large numbers of vessels and boats in the Mekong Delta. The municipal authority has also asked the People’s Committee of Tan Phu District to coordinate with relevant agencies on construction of Bo Bao Tan Thang and Le Trong Tan streets. Tan Phu District People’s Committee was told to map out plans for compensation for site clearance and support for families affected by construction of a new intersection on Le Trong Tan and Tan Quy streets.
