Hajj 2018: States urged to stick to agreed mode of payment

THE Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) has called on states’ pilgrims welfare boards to reduce the minimum deposit for the 2018 hajj fare to N300, 000 per month to allow low income earners cope with the mode of payment. It, therefore, called on the states’ pilgrims boards to review their minimum deposit benchmark to N300,000 as directed by NAHCON. Secondly, the current economic reality should have been factored into consideration before arriving at the decision by the two states pilgrims’ boards. “NAHCON has already set March ending as the deadline for the registration of 2018 hajj. N300,000 paid in five months from November is N1.5 million and such amount will likely be able to meet the 2018 hajj fare package,” the organisation added.
