This is the fourth St Brigid’s bank holiday Monday. Before St Brigid’s Day weekend was conceived, she said, fewer than half of the hotel’s rooms would have been booked a few days before the first weekend in February. If anywhere should benefit from St Brigid’s Day, of course, it should be Kildare, which, like Dublin, is hosting a multitude of events to mark the occasion.
