Today, as Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies (QDT) was publicly disclosing the first set of real-world server workload benchmarks running on its Qualcomm Centriq 2400 system-on-chip (SoC) products, QDT also publicly announced its Qualcomm Centriq 2400 first end-use design win: Hatch Entertainment, a subsidiary of Rovio Entertainment (creator of Angry Birds). Hatch Entertainment @HatchDotLive will use Qualcomm Centriq 2400 server processors to power cloud-based mobile gamingHatch Entertainment will use Qualcomm Centriq 2400 SoCs to power cloud-based mobile gaming. However, by running Android games in the cloud, consumers do not have to download and install the games. Hatch plans to serve games via hosted bare metal instances using Qualcomm Centriq 2400 SoCs. Qualcomm Centriq 2400 compute density and native Armv8 code execution result in better total cost of ownership (TCO) for Hatch.
