Hearts and Hibs may be out of European football but the money is rolling in. Both Edinburgh sides failed to reach the group stage of the Conference League, despite spirited performances in the qualifying round prior to the play-off. Yet the reality came crashing down when PAOK and Premier League Aston Villa flexed their Euro muscles to knock the capital side's out. The lure of £3million just for making the group stage was missed, with that tantalising amount not even including the money made from briefs and from the TV. However both the Gorgie and Leith outfits will be hoping next year they can make the next round, with Aberdeen involved in the group stage after dropping down from Europa League qualifying.
