more-inThe Congress MLA from Bilaspur, Bambar Thakur, on Tuesday accused a party leader of conniving with the BJP in smuggling acacia wood to Punjab and other States. The állegation came a day after Himachal Congress general secretary Ramlal Thakur called a press conference to highlight the MLA’s alleged involvement in a ₹200 crore mining scam in Bilaspur’s Naina Devi. Mr. Ramlal Thakur, who is the chairman of the 20-Point Programme Implementation Committee, had also alleged that the MLA took commission from people involved in the construction of four-lane highways. FIR demandedDemanding an FIR against the legislator, the leader said Mr. Bambar Thakur was threatening State government officials with transfers and was aggressive in his behaviour. Mr. Ramlal Thakur had also accused sitting MLA Randhir Sharma and former BJP MP Suresh Chandel of being involved in a mining scam.
