Household incomes rise to new high, but rate of health coverage flattens


The nation’s median income — the midpoint where half makes more and half less — didn’t start rising again until 2014. Last year, it reached $61,400. On an inflation-adjusted basis, that was up 1.8% from 2016, a much slower increase than in the previous two years but still the highest point on record.
