Twitter has (along with every other social network it seems) come under fire recently for not having quality feeds. While Facebook has publicly said it won't ever have a dislike button (although it seems to be creeping in), Twitter has had one for a fair while (they won't confirm when) but few people know about it let alone use it. Filter bubble activists and various smart cookies warn against this sort of behaviour as it can be a double-edged sword. Twitter won't say when, how often or what conditions have to happen in order for it to show up but my tests indicate it pops us less when a tweet is from outside your followers. Twitter's support page simply says; '[Twitter] may use this information to optimize and tailor your experience in the future.'
