Firefighters were called out to the enormous blaze on Legrams Lane, which is near to the university, at around 2.45am. Residents are being urged to shut their doors and windows due to smoke as the fire rages, with at least 18 fire engines at the scene. Pictures emerged on social media in the early hours of Wednesday showing huge plumes of smoke billowing over the city as a fire lit up the sky. In a statement West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service urged people living nearby to shut their doors and windows. "Local residents living in the Shearbridge area of Bradford are advised to keep doors and windows closed due to large plumes of smoke in the area."
