Baba Jamal further clarified that he would only step down from his current role as high commissioner if he successfully wins the parliamentary seat. The NDC parliamentary primary, scheduled for February 7, is ahead of a March 3 by-election, which became necessary following the death of the sitting Member of Parliament, Naser Toure Mahama. Baba Jamal is one of six aspirants who have picked nomination forms to contest the race.
