An 18-year-old female secondary school student has confessed to the police in Ogun State that she had poisoned her guardian so that she could return to her biological mother. The SSS1 student was arrested by the police in Ogun State for attempting to kill the guardian, one Mrs Esther Bada, by adding rat poison to her food. The suspect, who was identified as Tope Fasanya, was arrested following a complaint by the victim, who had reported that she became very uncomfortable with sharp stomach pain after eating the food served by her maid. It was gathered that the suspect was taken to Owode Egba general hospital, from where she was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta for proper medical treatment. According to Oyeyemi, “the suspect was subsequently arrested.
