Majority of Kenyans believe 2022 was particularly a tough year due to the high cost of living, unemployment, and access to health care. A new poll by Infotrak shows that 50 percent of Kenyans consider 2022 generally a terrible year, 28 percent thought that it was just an average year while 22 percent deemed it generally an excellent year. Residents of the Western, Coast, Nyanza, and Nairobi regions found 2022 worst compared to their counterparts in the North Eastern and Coast regions who found 2022 an excellent year. The unemployment rate was yet another reason why Kenyans perceived 2022 as a bad year with 42 percent of respondents wanting it tackled. 11 percent feel that 2023 will be the same as 2022 while only 7 percent said 2023 would be worse than 2022.
