EDMONTON—The Correctional Service of Canada is investigating after a 37-year-old inmate died while in custody at the Edmonton Institution on New Year’s Eve. According to a news release, 37-year-old Ryan Groothuis died while in custody. His next of kin have been notified. A cause of death was not disclosed.
