The New York Times last month won an Oscar for the first time in its 170-year history. Ellick, a former Times foreign correspondent, founded Opinion Video in 2018. Thinking back to 2018, we started off by asking Ellick to recall his pitch for Opinion Video. Did the Times have Academy recognition in mind when it set Opinion Video up?
