CAIRO – 1 April 2021: Volume of investments during the first phase of the Decent Life initiative amounted to LE 7.5 billion by the end of 2020, according to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. The report emphasized that the Decent Life Initiative made achievements in its first phase to contribute to reducing poverty rates for the first time in Egypt's history. Decent Life is an initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in 2019 to improve the standard of living and quality of life for the most vulnerable groups in Egypt. According to Minister of Planning Hala El-Said, the initiative includes 4,500 villages and targets to improve the lives of 50 million Egyptians.
