Said Cummings: “The Sirleaf Administration has done a great deal for Liberia … establishing strong democratic institutions, freedom of speech, etc. Can Mr. Cummins state the basis of the current salaries and benefits of $15,000.00 and his justifications for his 50% reduction? Mr. Cummings, democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Neither Sirleaf nor Cummings represent democracy. Irrespective of high illiteracy and poverty participatory democracy can work in Liberia because democracy is based on our common humanity, not social class or education.
