After almost 20 years at Newfoundland and Labrador’s top cultural institution, and almost seven years as its CEO, Anne Chafe is stepping down in May after a career she calls a "privilege." Chafe has held leadership roles with the provincial archives for nearly two decades. Anne Chafe says her decision to retire is not connected to the recent provincial election that saw the Liberals ousted by the PCs. Chafe was with The Rooms for the creation of prominent exhibits, like the Trail of the Caribou, which, she said, was an incredible experience.
