The team traded fourth-year defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. to the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday afternoon for two draft picks. Despite limited playing time this season, Fowler had eight tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Fowler was the third overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but he never lived up to the high expectations. The former first round pick out of the University of Florida was never able to make his mark on the field in Jacksonville. Besides the draft picks, this trade could turn out to be a good example of addition by subtraction.
