Jeremy Darroch steps down as Sky chief executive


Jeremy Darroch, one of the longest-serving bosses of a big British business, is stepping down as chief executive of Sky after more than a decade in charge. Mr Darroch, 58, will be succeeded at Sky, which is owned by Comcast, the American cable television group, by Dana Strong, 50, president of Comcast’s consumer cable business in the US. He will remain at Sky as executive chairman until the end of the year to support the transition to Ms Strong before becoming an adviser to the company. Mr Darroch spent 13 years as chief executive of Sky, having joined in 2004 as chief financial officer.
