A CID inspector has been suspended, besides being booked along with his wife and another family member, for allegedly torturing a 13-year-old girl employed as domestic help in their house. On Wednesday, following the inquiry report, ADG (CID) Ajay Kumar Singh suspended the inspector. Noting that the police have swung into action immediately, the court, however, said: The State of Jharkhand through its Chief Secretary, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies of the victim minor girl or her family in any other proceedings, is also directed to pay Rs 25,000 to the father of the victim minor girl immediately. According to the police, the case came to light when Childline and labour department conducted a joint raid following information about a minor girl being employed as domestic help on August 7. The girl was taken to district hospital, from where she has been put in the Premashram.
