Blessington resident John Horan has recently completed his final term of office as Director and Chairperson of the National Treatment Purchase Fund. Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, has acknowledged the contribution Mr Horan made to the NTPF during his 14 years on the Board. The Minister noted that the role of the organisation had changed considerably since 2007 from its original role to provide treatment to the longest waiting patients. 2018 saw the establishment of the National Centralised Validation Unit and the Minister also acknowledged the role the NTPF has played in supporting the National response to the Covid-19 pandemic. He was also instrumental in establishing the Blessington Covid Community Response formed at the beginning of the pandemic.
