Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has denied orchestrating the removal of county assembly speaker Thaddeus Rajwayi. Sources say there is a silent war pitting Mombasa natives against non-natives. The Star has established the county assembly fights on Tuesday and Wednesday were well planned by the warring factions, pitting Joho allies, led by nominated MCA Mohamed Hatimy, against ‘rebel’ MCAs led by Kongowea’s Jabess Oduor. Speaking on the phone, Abdulrahman said Joho does not need MCAs to be re-elected in 2017. Majority leader Abdallah Kasagamba came up with a motion to disband some of the assembly committees led by the governor’s allies.
