It was glorious to the thousands of Jays fans who took over the place again, anyway, starting with a two-run homer from Josh Donaldson in the first inning, the big blow in a 4-0 Toronto win. The Yankees may be slugging themselves away from the rest of the AL East, but the Jays’ win moved them to within a game-and-a-half of a wildcard spot. It was an uncharacteristic start for Paxton and one that continued the frustration that has defined his relationship with the Jays. Prior to Sunday’s start, the former Delta Secondary School student had 55 strikeouts in 48 innings of work. Sunday’s start was his third since spending 10 days on the disabled list in early May.
