A columnist for the Huffington Post India, Garga has a PhD from Harvard University and is a faculty at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He was also the co-editor, along with Jerry Pinto, of Bombay Meri Jaan (Penguin), an anthology of writing about Bombay. His highly acclaimed biography of Cairo, Cairo: The City Victorious has been published in eight languages.
