While the daily new infections of the coronavirus disease continue to recede in Karnataka, the number of new fatalities continues to remain a concern for the state. Active caseload further fell to 350,066 cases from the 372,373 reported previously on Friday, a decline of 22,307 cases. Karnataka witnessed the unabated spread of Covid-19 during the second wave of the pandemic and was reporting over 40,000 new cases earlier in the month. While the number of new cases detected in the state have been receding along with the active caseload, the daily fatalities have continued to remain a concern for the state. Also, the death toll in the state has more than doubled in the past two months.
