MPs had barely taken their seats at the latest session when Liberals called a quick end to it. The public right to know counts for squat when you’ve got 180 Liberal MPs facing re-election in a few months. And just to be sure he didn’t accidentally add to the trouble, the prime minister went to Florida for a holiday break. Do other corporate bigwigs get to call up Wernick and plead for special favours, or only predecessors who now head embattled Montreal firms that donate heavily to the Liberal party? These questions may not upset Housefather, the prime minister, or other Liberals who are doing their best to stuff cotton in their ears, but they evidently still bother Wilson-Raybould.
