At least 15 protesters were arrested after ignoring police officers' orders to clear the area, according to The Rapid City Journal. The confrontation unfolded hours before Trump's fiery Fourth of July speech at the national monument including denunciations of protesters he says are trying to 'tear down' the nation's history. Kristi Noem, a Trump ally, has said social distancing won't be required during the event and masks will be optional. Noem and Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., were among the crowd meeting the president and First Lady Melania Trump at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
